Regulating Child Safe Organisations – submissions now under review
10 April 2019
In February this year, the Office of the Children’s Guardian released the Regulating Child Safe Organisations discussion paper (PDF 1.5MB) outlining a model for the regulation of child safe standards in NSW.
By the end of the consultation period, we had received more than 50 submissions and almost 300 survey responses.
This feedback, along with what we heard in consultations with more than 50 peak bodies, government agencies and representatives in child-related work across NSW, will inform how we refine the model.
NSW Children’s Guardian, Janet Schorer, acknowledged the many people who participated in the process.
“My thanks go to each of the organisations and individuals who took the time to contribute to this important process. Your feedback will help us design our approach and make our recommendations to further strengthen the safety of children in NSW,” Ms Schorer said.
The Office of the Children’s Guardian will now review stakeholder feedback and prepare a short public report about what you told us.
We will use those insights to design an approach that responds to the recommendations of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse appropriate for NSW.
