Professional development for NSW teachers now available
7 November 2019
Free eLearning provided by the Office of the Children’s Guardian is now endorsed by the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) for teachers to use for their professional development.
Teachers can register and complete our NESA courses to acquire professional development hours.
Since Child Safe eLearning was launched in 2017, thousands of people working in child-related work have learned about risk management, situational prevention of child abuse, recruitment, reporting obligations, organisational culture, policies and procedures and the working with children check.
There are two courses:
- Child Safe eLearning - Keeping children safe in organisations
- SAFESpace eLearning - Keeping children safe in organisations in disability sector
These courses are now also available in a version designed to help teachers meet their professional development obligations.
- Child Safe eLearning - Keeping children safe in organisations (NESA endorsed)
- SAFESpace eLearning - Keeping children safe in organisations in disability sector (NESA endorsed)
For NSW teachers and early childhood educators, each unit of the NESA courses completed after the introduction contributes thirty minutes of professional development time.
