How to keep your Working With Children Check details in your pocket

Digital card - Working With Children Check15 April 2019

You can now have your Working With Children Check details with you when you’re on the go.

Service NSW and the Office of the Children’s Guardian are trialling a project to allow a secure and convenient way for you to view your Working With Children Check clearance number on a digital card in the Service NSW app.

You can join the trial by going to www.service.nsw.gov.au/wwcc-app

If you have a clearance (WWC) number, you can link it to your Service NSW app, along with other details such as car registrations, with other features coming soon.

The process for applying for or verifying a Working With Children Check has not changed. People still need to apply for the check via our website and provide their proof of identity at Service NSW.

What happens if a person’s clearance is cancelled by becoming barred or interim barred?

Through continuous checking, if someone has their clearance cancelled, the WWC number will be removed from that person’s Working With Children Check digital card.

Employers still need to verify a worker’s WWC number online so that the employer can be notified if a person’s clearance is cancelled.
