Creative Kids program now open for provider registrations
30 November 2018
Following a NSW Government announcement, parents, guardians and carers will soon be able to apply for a voucher for up to $100 per calendar year for each school-enrolled child aged 4.5 to 18 years. The rebate is available once a year for four years.
The program was jointly announced on 26 November by Minister for Finance, Services and Property Victor Dominello and Treasurer Dominic Perrottet.
The voucher may be used with an approved activity provider for registration, participation or membership costs for performing arts, visual arts, coding, languages, literary, music and other eligible creative and cultural activities.
Become a Creative Kids provider
If you are a business or organisation offering creative or cultural activities to school-age children, you can find out if you are eligible to become a provider. Information on eligibility is available from the Service NSW Creative Kids FAQ.
The Office of the Children’s Guardian can help you meet the requirement for providers to have a Child Safe Policy or complete our Child Safe eLearning course.
Providers must also demonstrate that all their workers and volunteers in child-related work have obtained a Working With Children Check clearance.
Local organisations offering creative activities to school-age children are encouraged to register for the program, which aims to support parents and guardians in giving the opportunity of extra-curricular creative activities.
