The caretaker period for the NSW Election commenced on 1 March 2019. Accordingly, no ministerial press releases or related information issued by the Government from 1 March 2019 will be available on this website.

For copies of recently issued ministerial press releases or information on the election policies of any political party, go to the website of the relevant political party.

This 2017 statutory review of the WWC Act was conducted in accordance with s 53, which requires that consideration be given to whether the policy objectives of the Act remain valid and whether the terms of the Act remain appropriate for securing those objectives. This report was tabled in NSW Parliament on 13 March 2018.

Evaluation of the new Working With Children Check (pdf 2.4MB)
The WWCC is a prerequisite for paid and unpaid child-related work and is one of the tools available to keep children safe. The check is administered by the OCG in line with the Child Protection (Working With Children) Act 2012. Changes were made to this legislation in 2013 to deliver a more efficient and flexible policy and practice framework, as well as offering greater protection to children.
