Voluntary out-of-home care monitoring framework and associated documents
The Office of the Children’s Guardian is responsible for registering and monitoring the responsibilities of agencies that provide or arrange voluntary out-of-home care under the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998 and Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Regulation 2012.
Agencies intending to provide or arrange voluntary out-of-home care must first be registered by the Office of the Children's Guardian. Before submitting an application, the agency must discuss their intention to register by contacting the registration systems team of the Office of the Children's Guardian.
The registration form is a compliance undertaking and a submission of relevant policy statements that detail an agency's practice, having regard to the voluntary out-of-home care procedures.
